Irwin Award for Best Biographical, awarded in 2010 for her book, Janos Starker, King of Cellists.
As soloist and chamber musician, Joyce Geeting, cellist, has performed many concerts throughout the
United States and in Europe, including England, Norway, Germany, Austria and Italy. Her credits include
many televised solo performances in Europe and the United States; live radio broadcasts as soloist and
with the chamber ensembles, Descanso Players and California Chamber Artists; solo cellist and faculty
member for the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria; touring in Western Europe with
Vienese pianist, Norman Shetler and the Collegium String Quartet; principal cellist with the Eisenstadt Music
Festival in Austria, soloist with the Rome Festival in Italy, and guest artist with symphony orchestras
